The Third Day of Christmas

Tied with love, RESPECT takes the the cake on this Third Day of Christmas. Respect is another peice of the chain that just cannot be done without. There must be trust in order for anything to begin, love in order to keep it going, and respect is what makes it perfect. Respect for each other, respect for each other's places, and respect for the process of change. We all change as we begin this road, and for some of us, it's far harder than others. We need to stand in awe of that process, though, and respect that person walking this road with you now might not be the same person you started the journey with. Repsect for people, and respect for the change itself, it vitally important. Submission demands respect for the submissive as a person, and respect for the Top as needed for his station.

Now, I am a firm believe in the phrase, "Respect is earned." Respect, like submission, CANNOT be demanded. . . . . it is born of love and trust, and there is no short cut. Respect for each other comes with time. Mutual respect is born out of mutual trust, and it will only grow and grow as love does. . . . . . . Respect is defined as "a feeling of high regard, honor, or esteem and deference or dutiful regard." That one is pretty self-explanatory. . . . . . and the feeling is unmistakable. It bubbles up inside of you, and it's a driving force for all actions. Today, watch what you say, how you act, the reactions you give. . . . . . and give the one that is warranted, and earned. . . . . Don't let the continued holiday stress throw you for a loop, for you are loved, and there's one who loves you dearly. :-)

  1. Keagen, quite right, respect has to be earned by both sub and dom.
To often, especially the elderly, seem to think that their age or social position entitles them to respect.
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.
