Fifth Day of Christmas

Merry Fifth Day of Christmas, posted at 5 in the morning, just like the previous. . . . . errr, well, three before this last one that I kinda just procrastinated on and then, yeah, I think I'm gonna hush now. Merry Fifth Day of Christmas! And seriously, you guys, some feedback would be realllllyyyyy nice. . . . . . I feel like I'm just kinda tossing my ideas out there, and no one is reading them. For all I know, you guys are sitting there LAUGHING at me. . . . . . and I would never know it. Time to shift gears a bit. . . . . . .
Today, our words carry meaning and emotion beyond measure. Seriously, there are fewer loaded sentiments in the English language.

CHERISH. . . . . TENDER. . . . . . NURTURE. . . . . ATTENTION.

What comes to mind? A mental image filled with warmth, caring, serenity, peace, love. . . . . . . .  These words empower and embody so many previous words/concepts, and others will build off of them. Definitions. . . . . . . . .

Cherish means "to protect and care for someone lovingly." This is the ultimate charge of the Top. . . . . . to protect (from anything and everything, including herself, and himself, if needed) and to care (which can be as surface or as deep as needed), lovingly. Cherish encompasses all of the warm fuzzy feelings. . . . . .  the feels of being held near and dear to one's heart. This may appear to be a one way street, from Top to bottom, but, in all actually, it is very much a two way road. Just as he may cherish and treasure her gift of submission, and her, she may cherish his love, strength, guidance, loyalty, and the opportunity he gives her to be herself, and to express her submission.

Tender means to "show gentleness and concern." Oh, ain't that the truth! I think what many of us treasure about the D/s dynamic is the dual nature of pratically EVERYTHING. Mental/phsyical. Submission/dominance. Strength/weakness. Pain/pleasure. Vulnerability/safety. Hard/soft. It amazes me how the same hands that can deliver such pain and have me writhing in tears can just as quickly turn velvet soft and bring comfort that nothing else in this world can. How the same hands that can gently brush a strand of hair out of my face can quickly transform into bone-crushing hold. How the tender, exceptionally gentle, soft side can be overrun by the authoritative, harsh side. . . . . . . . and how the two are perfectly balanced.

Our next word is a fun one. . . . . . . Nurture. Nurture means to "care for and encourage the growth of something." However, nurture carries a two part definition. . . . . . . The second part is "to cherish." Small world, isn't it? *grins* KYOTKGUY often thanks me for giving him my gift of submission, so that he can guide it, shape it, mold it, and give it back. . . . . . . For a relationship to flourish, there must be growth. . . . . . and it is a Top's responsibility to encourage, shape, and mold growth as he sees fit.

Attention. This, my friends, is a very loaded word. There are positive and negative sides, but, here, we're gonna focus on the positive. One of the things that makes me happiest is when KYOTKGUY and I are together, and he makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world. This is part of being cherished and nurtured and part of a whole lot of other things. . . . . . . . The actual definition of this world involved the "noticing of someone as if they were important." When I'm in KY's arms, I feel like the most important part of the world. . . . . . . everything feels just PERFECT. . . . . . . and that, my friends, is part of the magic of submission.

  4. I am still in awe of being cherished and his "treasure" as he puts it. NEVER in a million years did I think I would EVER meet somebody that saw the inside (not just the outside)me! I had resigned myself to being alone and lonely. So glad I "woke up" in June 2008,have met the best people EVER!

  8. Wow. I've been so busy over the holidays that I've missed my favorite blogs. I love this post in particular. It's so true. Honestly, it's something so many search for and yet so few are lucky enough to find. When you do, it's a true treasure. Happy holidays Keagen.
