Socks

That's right. Socks. I was spanked over SOCKS. That has GOT to top the list of "the dumbest reasons EVER to be spanked."

See, I HATE wearing socks. They constrict my toes, and when I can't move my toes without them rubbing together, I get really antsy and jittery and anxious, and I just end up pulling my socks off wherever, and leaving them. Dead serious. I've taken my shoes off in the middle of stores before. Cannot STAND it. Toe-socks are even WORSE, because then I just feel trapped and the sensation is SO weird and just UGH. I will wear flip-flops in the snow, and will wear Crocs all year round, if only to avoid the dreaded socks. Now, at times, I DO wear tennis shoes. . . . . . . . . . . . and I own a few pairs. . . . . . but only when I really have to, if only to attain the appearance of "semi-normal". So, socks leave me an anxious, jittery, irritable mess.

So I take them off. Great solution, no?

It is unless you've been told to wear them at all times if you're not in the shower or sleeping.

See, I have problems maintaining my body heat. I get, and stay, really, really, really cold. My circulation is horrible, and my feet and hands always feel like they've been hanging out in the freezer. So what is KYOTKGUY's solution??????

SOCKS!

Apparently, one can loose a LOT of heat via their feet. I'm aware of this. I'm also aware of one being able to loose a whole bunch of heat through their HEAD, but we won't go there. *notice that I am not whining to you all about being made to wear a hat*

So, two nights in a row, he looks down, and sees that I am not wearing socks. . . . . . . and the second time, I had almost JUST taken them off! He had to look down THEN. Of COURSE. *and by just, I mean within the hour*

Spanking. He tells me that the spankings are worse than the socks. And they are. Far worse. But in that anxious, jittery moment, my thought is not, "Oh, this is gonna hurt really bad later!" It's, "OMG..... socks..... gotta get them off NOW." And then..... my toes can breathe, I feel happy, and I continue my dance of life.

Until I end up over his knee over SOCKS. Can't tell I'm a wee bit bitter, no?

*sullenly* I think I'm be wearing them from now on. Regardless. Period. That, or figure out how to install hand-warmers into my feet. . . . . . . . . . . .

**EDIT** **AN HOUR LATER** Ok. . . . . . . so maybe, in retrospect, I was spanked for disobedience. . . . .and not socks. . . . . . . but still. . . . . . *whines* SOCKS.

  1. Keagen, when I was young I used to like to go barefooted, I lived in the country so it was mostly safe, but never in a town or city.
I don't understand your problem with socks, but then I'm not you.
I would say about sixty percent of spankings are about disobedience of one sort or another.
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.

  2. NO ONE understands my problem with socks. :-(

I ALWAYS went barefoot as a kid, but I lived out in the middle of BFE, Indiana.

This blog post actually made me laugh, because I was so. . . . .incensed when I wrote it, and actually forgot about it. :-D

  3. Well would be incensed too. Our first Dd winter Grant made a rule about hats. I don't like winter hats. The only thing worse than hats is hat hair. Nope, ain't happening! However, you need to get smart about these things. I only wore my coat with the hood. My "hat" was with me at all times and if I was forced to put it up (only when with him) it was not so bad on the hair.

Have you tried slippers? Under the circumstances I think K needs to gift you with nice ones. I mean, if he's going to spank you for SOCKS...(OK, so disobedience...but what doesn't fall under that rule one way or another???? It's a plot I tell you!) Anywaaay, shearing slippers are soft and roomy. They even make ones with rubber souls so they can go outside. I think you need to get creative. A women who can think to fix her car with a spork can certainly come up with something!

  4. LOL I was DEFINITELY Incensed, Sara. :-D I abhor hats. And gloves. Seriously HATE gloves. Almost as much as I do socks. I can't stand that woolly fabric between my fingers thing. . . . kinda like I can't stand toe socks. . . .

And I TOTALLY get you on the hat hair. My hair is impossible ENOUGH without sticking out in totally odd directions.

*grins* Slippers. . . . They're a bit bigger, a bit bulkier, and they add WEIGHT to the "trapped" feeling. And I'm constantly sitting in the floor with my feet tucked under me. . . . and house shoes are rather uncomfortable to sit on. :-)

  5. And I did NOT fix the car with a spork. . . . Jessa did. . . . or tried to. . . . *thinks, Epic Fail*. . . .

You do have a good point there, with the shearing slippers. . . . I've also heard they make toeless socks!

  6. *huge smirk* I am so glad to see that spoon is in Kentucky.....*huge hugs* Thanks girl!!!!

  7. *grins* Uh-huh..... you owe me. :-D

  8. Not fair getting a spanking for not wearing socks. Re-think the slipper idea though - when you take them off, you might end up getting spanked with them. :)

    How about feet warmers?

  9. *mutes evil look* NOT funny, Daniel. Not funny at all.

I have an electric blanket that KYOTKGUY got me that I absolutely adore, and if I am at home, I am wrapped up in it. You'd think that'd be enough, but noooooooo. I STILL have to wear socks.

  10. Keagan - I had to smile at your post b/c it is impossible to make my daughter wear socks, she hates them too. A friend told me that Uggs, or any real (inside and out) sheepskin boots, are great for wearing without socks, something about being able to regulate body temp and all that. Anyway, my daughter and I wear our boots sockless all the time, we love them. Maybe you can get him to buy you some Uggs... :)

  11. HA! I am NOT the only one! I am SO happy that I am NOT the only one!

And I would love a pair of Uggs. :-D They are SO crazy expensive, though. I keep an eye on Craigslist and Ebay, though, because I've heard the same thing. :-)

I'm glad you enjoyed the post. :-D

  12. Well, you may not like socks, but you certainly have some cute ones! I always wear socks, because I freeze if I don't. Even in the summer, my feet are always cold. It can be 80 degrees at night and I still have to go to sleep with socks on! Lately, I've taken to wearing socks and slippers. :)

  13. I'm glad someone enjoys them! :-D

I cannot, absolutely CANNOT sleep with socks on. I have a hard enough time with them during the day, but at night, in bed, the downright give me panic attacks. :-D

  14. Hey Keagen! Totally not fair getting spanked for socks. If your really interested in Uggs, though, they are awesome, but expensive. You should also check out slickdeals.net you can create an account and they will send you notifications on things you are interested in... I've seen Uggs on there supper cheap. You just have to be quick!

Good luck with the sock rule. I have a problem with circulation too and my feet are always cold... luckily I don't have a sock rule! I do try to wear sheep skin slippers!

  15. I wear socks a lot. I never thought someone would hate them so much. Those socks you're wearing are cute. Why isn't an electric blanket or under covers when you sleep warm enough to have bare feet? Your house must be very chilly at night.

Sorry you got punished, Keagen. A spanking does warm you up, at least in one place. Maybe he should spank your feet.....I know, I'm not helping one bit. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'll keep that in mind, Cowgirl! Thanks for letting me know!

Ugh, that circulation thing is just the WORST, no?

I abhor them, Brett. :-D They're HORRIBLE. They feel horrible. They make me feel horrible. Just UGH. Thank you, though, I rather like the colors, myself. :-D It's not that the HOUSE is chilly; it's that my hands and feet don't get enough blood to them to stay as warm as the rest of me.

I'm sorry, too. :-D *cringes* Ouch. Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE ouch.

  17. Now me I LOVE socks and often crochet my own. My Godfather's youngest daughter and one of my very best buds growing up HATED anything on her feet. EVERY picture except one I have of her when we were little she is either barefoot or in the process of taking off her socks, tights or what have yous. Big surprise that she now lives in Florida!? When my feet get too warm I just put on my Croc flip flops,or even my Crocs with holes, they help warm my feet a bit but also let them breathe! :)

  18. One word of advice: Hawaii. Okay, another few words. Miami, Acapulco, San Diego, someplace it never gets cold. I have the same problem with perpetually cold hands and feet, and if I was footloose and fancy free (which I should be, having nothing to tie me down, but am not), that's where I'd go.

  19. Drat, I did it again, how sloppy. Other blogs that remember my name and post it automatically have made me lazy. That last one was from Michael.

  20. Socks Mocks..... Let me spank you with the spoon and you won't sit down for a week :)

  21. So I can't even GET through all the comments there are so many!!!

I am in support of the gifting uggs idea. And with the birthday coming up, I would say it is a FABULOUS idea :) (Though I wear socks with my uggs)

When I get home, lovie, that's what we can go shopping for when we drag our men along ;) (Though I am less than impressed with the mall in Indy... We'll figure something out, we'll have all weekend :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. LOL There are a bunch of malls in the area, Ella. I'm sure we could figure something out! Uggs are too expensive to be gifted. :-D

    Outlaw, be nice.

Michael, here's the real kicker: I can't STAND heat. I can't STAND humidity, and I can't STAND stickiness. Ahh, but, I am tied down, and I love it. Well, love the REASON I am tied down, but not being tied down, sometimes.

    Scunge,
Amen for your. . . . .god-cousin? *grins* I'm the same way. I'm glad YOU enjoy socks; you can wear mine. :-D

  23. Totally not fair getting spanked over socks. I think you should report him to the SSU. They do make socks without toes/also make some without ankles and toes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Nah, no SSU case here. I don't think it was fair, either. :-D

I'm gonna find me some of those socks, before I end up getting a nightly spanking over these stupid things. :-D
