A Series of Unfortunate Events

Ouch. That's all I've got to say. No, I didn't get a spanking that I'm complaining over. . . . . . . . but I did get a healthy dose of pain, and not the supposedly "good" kind. Yesterday, I was sent into spiral of unexpected change, drama, and betrayal. People who were supposed to be helping me suddenly withdrew their support completely and told me that my efforts, while valiant, just weren't moving in the direction they'd like to see. I was stunned, for I'd poured myself into the tasks sat before me. I'd slipped and staggered a bit, but that's to be expected when learning (or re-learning) anything. My "mistakes"were thinly veiled excuses in order to allow them to back away guilt free.

KYOTKGUY and my family immediately stepped in to reassure me that nothing that had happened was my fault, that they were sorry, but that we were going to continue to move forward and make progress. KYOTKGUY requested that I fall back on the trust between us, and his ability to lead. Well, that wasn't a problem. While those people had left me in the cold to flounder, I now had a new-found skill set that I didn't have before, and between KYTOKGUY and myself, we can do anything. With his backing, support, and love (and that of friends and family), I'm confident of my ability to continue to progress and move forward. We've both discovered (not that we didn't actually know) that I make far more progress when I'm focused on my submission, than when I'm wary, withdrawn, and distant. Invariably, if I'm focused on anything other than my submission and maintaining the line of communication, I become an entirely different person.

So, long story short, this series of unfortunate events has once again brought the two of us closer and has bolstered our relationship. Isn't it funny how the supposedly bad things work like that?

  3. I agree with Ranier. Life experiences such as this mold us and each one gives us a clearer view of life, much like cleaning our glasses brings us a clearer view of the things we look at. Glad you have such a support in KYOTKGUY.

  4. Keagen, you met this challange and overcame it.
Of course you will be stronger, that is a law of nature.
    Well done!
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.

  5. Thank you so much, Bonnie. I'm glad he's there to draw strength from, in addition to the love and support of my friends and family. :-)

Ranier, have no fear; my German came through. :-) I just don't have the confidence any more to respond in German, although I still understand it. :-) I agree with both you and LR, whole-heartedly. (For my non-German speakers, Rainer basically said that such experiences allow one to not only recognize who the true friends in their life are, but it is also allows you further yourself. Don't let it get you down, because such events allow us a clearer sense of ourself, much like cleaning a lens. He then hoped that my German was still good enough for me to process and understand what he'd said, because it was too deep for him to express in English.)

Paul, that which doesn't kill me will make me stronger. :-)

    but stronger ...
    I don´t think so!

I think bigger, more feeling, more ... (wie übersetzt man Tiefgang?)

    Always better

  7. Nah, the truest sense of the words come through only in German. . . . . so much passion and emotion is lost in translation. :-)
