It seems that we all go through "phases" when it comes to spanking. . . . . . . . . . and that while each of us do it on our own cycle, they do occur. I can see several marked turns of interest in my own life, for sure, and I've watched it happen time and time again in the lives of friends.
Phases I've Noticed
The Newbie Phase
--This is the person who has just broken into the scene and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. They just can't get enough, and they're loving every minute of it.
The Normality Phase
--This is the person who has spanking as part of everyday life, and it's just an acceptable, normal thing. Spankings happen; nothing to get excited about. As Ella once said, "You get spanked today? Yeah. You? Yeah. . . . . . . so what's for dinner?"
That describes it pretty well. It just is, and while there is sometimes a grudging acceptance, the acceptance is there. It's commonplace, accepted, normal, and just something that happens. This is the phase I usually operate in.
The Testing Phase
-- This is the phase that many people go through eventually. . . . . . . . I've already had mine. :-D This is the game of stubborn idiocy. . . . . . . the game of pushing your limits and pain tolerance as far as possible with complete and utter disregard of the pain. Sometimes, it really DOES hurt, and one is just too stubborn to admit it, and then, there are the times when the endorphins and the adrenaline are flowing, and the pain becomes something else. Mere sensation, or mere theory. . . . . . . . it's as if it truly doesn't hurt.
The Reluctant Phase
-- From what I've noticed, this is a phase that most people in a DD or daily spanking relationship go through. . . . . . . . this is that wide-spread general apprehension of pain, and EVERYTHING tends to hurt so much worse than usual. There is obedience, but a general wariness and sense of distance from spanking.
The Defiant Phase
-- Pain hurts. It just does. We all go through phases where pain doesn't focus and calm behavior. . . . . . it frustrates and breeds anger. This is the defiant, "Never Say Die" phase that so many people cycle in and out of. This is the teeth-gritting, you ain't gonna get a reaction out of me, howling, kicking, screaming fits phase. . . . . . . . The one in which the pain just hurts an incredible amount, never seems to stop, and breeds frustration. There is a considerable amount of distance with spanking associated with this phase.
The Revocation Phase
--There's usually one phrase associated with this phase: "I'm turning in my spanko card!" The distance is greater here than anywhere, and even the thought of being spanked is somewhat repulsive. I don't know how "normal" this one is, but I've seen it a few times.
Hi Keagen,
ReplyDeleteI might add one more: The Renewal Phase. That's where you've been through most of the other phases several times and circle back to the novelty and delight of a newbie. You experiment, laugh, play, and simply enjoy.
It's my favorite phase!
Hugs,
Bonnie
Keagan, great post, I have seen myself in all those phases and also Bonnie's additional one :)
ReplyDeleteKeagen, being on the other side on the fence, I don't have these phases, but I've certainly noticed them.
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs,
Paul.
I'm looking forward to the Renewal Phase, myself. . . . . . . thank you for the wonderful addition, Bonnie. :-)
