Spanking Blog Overload!

There's a question that's been floating around the Spankosphere, and that's whether or not there are too many spanking-themed blogs.

The question has cropped up because it seems as if every day, there's another 100 new blogs out there, with people begging for links, promotion, and readers. There are only so many readers to go around, and with all these new venues begging for attention, surely those of us long-standing readers are loosing our audience to the newbies.

I really beg to differ. We all start blogging for various reasons, be it attention, promotion, journaling, connection, or just a place to pour our thoughts. Whatever the reason, it's personal and special to each individual blogger. We all deserve a niche, and the internet is plenty big enough for us all.

Like all things, there are good blogs, and bad blogs. There might be a new uprising of mutant spanko bloggers, but that doesn't mean they're going to steal our audience. Each blogger draws crowds for a different reason, and until a blogger is established, they don't get much of a crowd, merely visitors. Those visitors may or may not return, based on what they see on that first visit. Blogs that aren't noteworthy, captivating, or that have stale, rarely updated content will not build a stable base. I don't think we need to fear loosing audience members to the newer crowds because if one provides fresh, interesting ideas, one's faithful following will stick around. If a blogger truly starts loosing fans, then he or she needs to look at HIM/HERSELF, and not the what's going on around them.

There are several bloggers right off the bat that I can think of that have built, and maintained, a stable fan base. Cornerstones in the spankosphere, these guys seem to do everything right.

First off is Chross, the Spankologist. His well-known feature is "Spanking of the Week", and he possesses the largest, and most well known, spanking blog on the net.

Closely following is Brush Strokes from The Spanking Spot. He's known for far more than I could ever point out, and has been around for longer than Chross.

Richard Windsor is known for his unique and rare spanking photo finds, his fresh, cheeky take on life, and his New Yorker rants. If you find a unique photo on another site, you're more than likely gonna be able to track it back to Rich "Houndog" Windsor.

Bonnie, from My Bottom Smarts, is well known for her weekly features, as are Todd and Suzy of American Spanking Society.

All of these blogs, and people, have built and maintained a loyal following year, after year, after year, and far from fearing new bloggers, they welcome them into the fold, help them get their feet on the ground, and then send them on their way.

We ought to do the same. When I was just starting out, I didn't know about the world of blogging, merely that I wanted one, and knew it was a good method of gaining support and followers, if done correctly. Many of the above bloggers helped me get started, build momentum, and I've been going every since! I don't know why you guys keep coming back, but I'm glad you do, and I'm thankful for your dedicated support, loyalty, and friendship.

Oh, and your comments! That's the ONE THING you can do to stoke a blogger's ego. . . . . . Leave comments! *weg*
