Tantamount Touch

**Edit** I had this wonderful post planned, and I had swirling ideas. . . .and then, I started writing, and it fell flat. . . . *sigh* Oh well. . . such things happen on occasion.

Today, I'm here to explore the concept of touch. For many spankees, after care is the most important part of the entire session. The question is. . . . why? What makes it so vitally important?

The answer is simple. . . . Touch. We all have instinctual and solid needs to touch, and be touched. Drop the sexual connotation. . . . we're talkin' platonic here. For women, touch is incredibly important. Overall, we tend to be more sensitive, physically, than men, and we also tend to have higher stress levels, simply because of the way our brains are wired. We tend to be more "keyed" and more tense overall. Touch is one of the simplest ways to relieve that tension. Nothing long, elaborate, or sensual is needed. . . . just a hand brushed across the shoulder as you're passed. . . . a quick, unexpected hug. . . . a light brush of the hand. . . . All increase the chemicals that make one feel "safe" and "cared for". More of the brain is adapted to processing the meaning behind physical sensation than anything else. . . . and, as noted earlier, it is vitally important. Not all of us are touchy by nature, but we all need it! After a spanking, one is usually extremely emotionally "open", and receptive to being cared for. Spankees are reduced to their basest instincts. . . .one of the most solid of which is the need for touch! The back rub. . . the full body contact. . . . all of it is necessary to return one to a state of "normal."

Don't forget about this important aspect, people! A simple, planned touch can say more than a thousand words ever could. . . .

  1. One of the key things for me during ANY spanking is Sir's non-spanking hand,I NEED it touching me. Be it on my back or elsewhere,I just need that connection. So your post today(well yesterday)is right on track for this sub. :)

  2. Amen. I gotta have the contact as well. I prefer being otk, for that very reason. . . . It keeps me more connected with KYOTKGUY. And, like yourself, I need his other hand. Wrapped around my waist, holding my arm (as much as I hate that, on my back, be it where it may. . . . I need the full-on contact. Nicely stated, Kate. :-)

  3. Keagen, for myself touch is most important.
The full body contact after the spanking is a high point for me, that is when the re-connect is signed and sealed.
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.

  4. I would just want to be very careful ahead of time about what sort of touch the spankee is comfortable with. I mean...while the spanking itself would largely be up to me, once the spanking itself is over, the spankee's input becomes much more of an issue. I wouldn't feel right making any kind of contact that she isn't comfortable with.

  5. It makes sense to me that it is definitely needed. I just mean that while most may be comfortable with hugs, or rubbing the back, or whatever...just to save my own ass (so to speak), I'd be more comfortable knowing these things ahead of time if possible. Not everyone will say, if I do something they don't like, "Sorry, it's ok, I didn't tell you..."

Obviously, as time goes on with an individual person, you learn things and it's not as necessary to be that specific.
