RSI Release (Keagen Waits on the Dean)
My third RSI vid was released today. . . . . this is the scene in which I was crazy apprehensive before hand. . . . . and I didn't know why. My stomach had a NEST of butterflies swimming around in there. . . . . and this hadn't been promised to be difficult, or anything. It wasn't a HARD strapping, persay, but it was a bit long, and the end was rapid fire, which built quickly.
Now, to address the question asked yesterday. . . . . . thank you all VERY much for participating. :-) To sum up everyone else's responses:
Tasha (Bottom) believes it has to do with acceptance of the discipline, and accepting it with the right spirit.
Andy (Top) says, "I think a person can be obedient without being submissive, but if you are submissive, obedience kind of goes right along with that."
Bonnie (Bottom) summed it up PERFECTLY. What she wrote is nearly a work of art. "
One can be obey without agreement. Submission makes agreement irrelevant."
Todd (Top) notes, "Obedience is something you have to do, or feel you have to do... whether you like it or not. That you don't like being in that position is really besides the point. Submission is doing something whether you like it or not... but overall enjoying (needing) the position that you're in."
All of these are EXTREMELY valid points. . . . . and my own view somewhat encompasses all of them. I've got a saying I used to toss at a disciplinarian I was working with. . . . . "You can MAKE me obey, but I will NEVER submit." This is where contempt and anger enter in. Submission is so much purer, and safer feeling. If you submit, the obedience comes right along side of it, with a proper attitude. I have a story I will often recount.
A little boy is standing in the front seat of his father's SVU. His daddy turns to him and says, "John, sit down and buckle up. That isn't safe." John stands there, glaring, and then turns and looks out the windshield again. Complaining, he says, "Daddy, I just want to SEE everything!" His father's tone deepens, and he says, "John, if you don't sit down right now, I'm going to pull over and spank you." John glares, but plops his bottom in the seat. Crossing his arms, he announces, "In my body, I'm sitting, but in my heart, I'm STANDING UP!"
Obedience can be forced. . . . . submission NEVER can. One cannot take submission, and, when it is given, it is given freely, and with the understanding, "You will NOT misuse this." To sum it up, obedience is the physical action completed. . . . . . and submission is the physical action completed with the proper, and willing, spirit.

Obedience is doing it with a frown, Submission is doing it with a smile.......Tasha
ReplyDeleteLove the look of apprehension in your eyes in the photograph. As a sucker for facial expressions, stuff like this doesn't go unnoticed.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if most of your vids with AEG are going to be on RSI? Or do you think they will have more on RS?
ReplyDeleteEhh, I'm not sure, Andy. I just shot a bunch of footage for RSI, but I've still got a bunch of RS stuff on file.
